Got a random text from a landline that said "Can I call you later?" No idea who it was from, totally automated. Strange, right?

Somebody rang me saying they’d lost their phone and pretending to be my son. Total scam effort!

got a call a moment ago claiming to be from visa secure. they said there was a payment of £600 they wanted to confirm and to hit 1 if we didn’t approve it. we were a bit suspicious coz last week we made a weird payment just over 1600, but since that one was legit, we didn’t bother pressing 1.

I tried asking him a few things but he wasn’t able to give me any clear answers. So, I decided to call ‘1471’ to see the number and then rang up my bank’s fraud team to double-check it.
