DO NOT PICK UP… Totally a scam I only answered because I was expecting a call about an important appointment and thought this could be it - turns out it wasn’t… A woman with a foreign accent claimed £79.99 had been charged to my Amazon account and said she’d refund it. I told her it was probably £7.99, but she kept insisting it was £79.99 and she’d give me the money back. I told her I’d check my account myself. Then I ended the call. Blocked the number right away.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who claimed she'd spotted an order on my Amazon account. Since our Amazon account’s linked to my wife’s email, I asked her which email the order was on, knowing straight away it was dodgy. She got annoyed and wasn’t able to give any proper info about our account. Eventually, she just hung up. While I was on the call, I also got a text supposedly from “Amazon” but I just deleted it. Amazon never rings from a mobile number, so it was clearly a scam.

Had my phone on silent, not a single message dropped. Anyone legit would’ve left a voicemail, right? Seems like a total scam to me!

He had an Asian accent and there was definitely some call centre noise in the back. Claimed he was ringing from Amazon but I just ended the call straight away.
