Got a phone call from this number the other day. The person asked about our timeshare, and when I told them I wasn’t interested, they suddenly mentioned some court injunction against me and my husband. They actually knew our names and claimed it was related to a contract breach or something. Quite worrying really.

Got a call on my landline and as soon as I picked up, they just hung up. Decided to ring the number back out of curiosity, and to my surprise someone answered saying “Consumer Protection Birmingham, how can I assist you?” I mentioned I’d just missed a call from them but thought with that name, maybe it wasn’t something I should deal with. The guy just replied “Please don’t call us again” and then hung up. Honestly, it made me crack up - just a pain rather than anything serious.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from consumer advice, sounded all slick and too knowing for my liking. Said he had my name and wanted to give me tips about scam calls, mentioning stuff like timeshares. I told him he was likely one of the scam people himself and then I just ended the call.

If a number pops up that you don't know, try picking up but stay silent. Automated calls usually won't respond to that and just call off. If it's a scammer on the other end, they'll probably just put the phone down too.

Got a call from this number the other day, some bloke saying he was Lewis from Harrogate Contracts. He claimed I'd messed up some holiday agreement and that they were taking me to court. Problem is, I don't even have a holiday contract! Told him to stop blagging and buzz off, and not to ring me again. I've blocked the number now.

I heard about Harrogate Advisory Service dealing with big timeshare resorts getting taken over and then trying to get court orders to take money off the original owners. I didn’t go ahead with them, but from what I gather they charge a hefty fee and do a bit of digging that ends up in nothing really.

This company has phoned me about five times today already. The lady on the phone has started getting quite rude and keeps interrupting me. We got rid of our timeshare years back and don’t owe anything. She’s threatening legal action in Europe, which is really stressful. On the last call, she even accused me of not paying attention. Honestly, I feel really harrassed now, so I’ve blocked their number on both my mobile and landline.

They mentioned something about me making a purchase with Hilton Group and said it was linked to a European Court case. Honestly, it seemed really dodgy to me. I’d just say don’t bother answering these, probably a scam!
