Got this dodgy text saying it was from my kid, but it was obviously a scam.

Someone contacted me using my kid’s name, texting to get me to send messages to a different number. It felt really suspicious.

Got a message from this number claiming to be my kid, saying they’d broken their phone and were messaging me from a mate’s device. They asked if I could contact them on a different WhatsApp number. Felt off to me, probably a scam. My kids always say their name so I know exactly who it is! Could be a mix-up but I’m thinking they’re trying to get info from my WhatsApp or something dodgy like that.
