I’ve had this number call me two times within the last day. It was a recorded message, sounded like a guy from the east coast of the US, saying he was from BT and said I had an SMS waiting which I needed to check by replying to the number that called. Thing is, I’ve not got any such texts, and as far as I know, BT doesn’t ring up to tell people about SMS messages, especially when it’s a landline that can’t even get texts! Seems dodgy to me.
