Not long ago I was in a car crash and got a call from someone saying they owed me a couple of grand. They sounded really nice but I could tell they were just trying to get details about the accident.

So I listed my cousin's car on Gumtree with my contact details, and within minutes, I got calls from like seven different numbers, all from another town. They kept telling me I'd been in a crash. When I told them I didn’t even own the car, they tried to say maybe I was involved as a passenger. And when I denied that too, they went on to ask if anyone in my family had recently been in an accident. It was proper weird and felt like some kind of scam.
