Got a call this morning from a woman’s automated voice, saying that 2 transactions were made on Amazon for £899.00, which I apparently never used. The message told me to press 1 or 2, or just hang up and call my bank’s security team. I’ve blocked the number straight away and checked my bank and Amazon accounts just to be safe.

I got a call from a number starting with 077, but I usually just block any calls from that prefix since I don't know anyone with those digits. If you've got a call blocking app, it’s a good idea to add 077 to the list of blocked area codes. From what I’ve seen, scam calls pretending to be from banks often use these numbers. I’ve also noticed Amazon and HMRC scammers using 077 numbers too. It’s not just 077 either - numbers beginning with 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, up to 079 seem dodgy and mostly scams from my experience.
