I got a call claiming to be from EE saying my 4G phone would stop working soon unless I accepted some 5G upgrade through DPD. They first checked if I was the account holder, then tried to get my email address. From what I could tell, that email was their main way to pull off whatever dodgy scam they had planned. Never give out your email to calls like this, seriously. I said I’d verify with EE myself and they hung up - but not before being really rude and pushy with me. Definitely sounds like a scam.
