I got a call from a strange mobile number, and an automated message said HMRC would take legal action against me for some reason. It then said I could press 1 to speak to someone about it. There’s no way these calls are real, especially from odd numbers like that. If I’d pressed 1, I’d probably have ended up paying through the nose to some scammer.
