I can vouch that this is actually a real Co-op Bank number about a suspicious credit card transaction. I answered their yes/no question and got given a landline to ring back, which turned out to be an official Co-op office. They told me there was an attempted fraud on my card, from South Georgia! So yeah, you can trust this number.

I got a message that looked like it was from the co-op bank, saying a recent asos payment was declined and asking if it was me. Not totally convinced it's legit though, seems a bit iffy.

Got a text from some mobile number claiming it was my Co-operative Bank saying a payment didn’t go through. It looked dodgy since the number wasn’t one I recognised at all. Honestly, not sure if it’s for real or just a scam.

Got a text from this number claiming to be from Coop Bank about a declined transaction. The details in the message matched a recent payment I made, but just to be sure I rang Coop Bank directly. They told me the message was legit and said to reply "yes" if I wanted to unblock my card, which worked perfectly. They also checked my latest transactions with me and confirmed everything was fine, just their fraud alert system doing its job. So yeah, I reckon this is a genuine and safe message.

Got a text from this number claiming to be Smile Bank, saying a purchase on my credit card was declined, including the shop name, date, time and amount. It was exactly the same one I’d just had rejected online. I replied with a “yes” to verify it was me, then got another automated message and my card got unblocked so I could use it again. Based on what happened, I reckon this was actually a legit message from Smile or Co-op Bank.
