This bloke rang me up, claiming he was with the conveyancing index or something, saying I’d put my info on their site. I told him I hadn’t done anything like that and he just got more pushy. It dragged on for a while until I finally ended the call.

I've had a few calls from this number, but whenever I answer there's just silence on the other end.

This number called me earlier and somehow they already had my name, which was weird. The person said they were from something called the conveyancing register. I don’t know how they got my details, but I ended the call straight away and blocked the number. Since I live in a council flat, whatever they wanted is pointless for me.

Its a scam. To help stop these dodgy calls, you should report every one of them. Just text the number and what happened to 7726. If lots of people flag the same number, the phone companies will put a warning out about it. Don’t bother reporting legit business numbers though. If you get scam texts, forward them to 7726 as well. For scam emails or screenshots of texts with suspicious links or attachments, send them to '[email protected]'. And if they somehow got hold of your bank info, tell your bank straight away and also notify the police on 03001232040.

I had a feeling it was about buying a house. They offered to assist with conveyancing and recommend life insurance, but I said no thanks quite nicely.
