07723361922 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 07723361922 👆 is reported as a number frequently used in sophisticated banking scams impersonating major UK banks like Lloyds, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland. Callers and texts often claim card fraud or declined transactions, urging recipients to respond with "yes" or "no" to verify activity, sometimes followed by requests for further personal information or calls to suspicious numbers. Many victims note these communications use genuine-looking details but originate from unofficial mobile numbers, and engaging with them can lead to financial risk. While some transactions and texts appear legitimate, users are strongly advised to independently contact their bank using official channels before responding. Reporting such incidents to police fraud agencies and using robust security software are recommended safeguards against this persistent phishing threat.

I just had a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying they’ve posted a letter to me. Super dodgy though, cos HMRC never call from a mobile and wouldn’t usually ring up out of the blue anyway. Total scam, watch out!

Back in ’22, I got a message saying my Lloyds debit card ending in [Card Number] had a declined transaction on 09-05-2022 at Canva Pty Limited for £0.00. The text asked me to reply YES if it was me, or NO if not, and said I didn’t have to call them. I didn’t realise it was a scam and answered YES. Then they replied saying thanks for confirming, and if I wanted to try again, to wait 10 minutes and try later. They insisted I didn’t need to ring them. Pretty sneaky if you ask me!

I got a message claiming to be from Bank of Scotland asking me to confirm if I had used my card to add credit to my phone or if my account was going to be blocked. I replied yes, assuming it was really from the bank, but now I’m starting to think it might have been a scam. Not entirely sure though.

There’s a comment a bit further down, number 3 I think, that explains how to handle calls from this number. If you work at Lloyds Bank or any related firm, don’t just brush it off. Make sure to ring them back on the contact number printed on your bank card to verify.

It’s a real issue when scammers pretend to be from legit banks using their phone numbers. Before you share any personal or bank details, make sure you ring your bank directly to double-check. Also, watch out for suspicious links - don’t just click on them. I’ve got Norton 360, and it usually gives me a heads up if a link tries to sneak malware onto my phone or laptop. Better to be safe than sorry!

Check out the posts from 6th and also 5 posts below here. They've got loads of tips on how to handle calls from this number. Don't just brush off calls that seem like they're from your bank. Remember, scammers often clone bank numbers to trick folks. The info in those posts explains it well.

I was trying to reserve a room at Travelodge through Agoda but when I hit the Book button, my card got declined right away. Out of nowhere, I received a text from this number saying it was Bank of Scotland, asking me to respond with Yes or No or they'd block any future transactions with my card. It seemed quite pushy, like they were trying to scare me into replying or else I wouldn't be able to use my card anymore. Felt really dodgy, honestly - could be some kind of phishing scam but not too sure :(

Was trying to pay for dog grooming online when my card got declined. Right after, got a text from this number saying my card was declined with details about the groomers. They asked me to reply yes or no if I made the transaction. I asked who it was, and then they said Lloyds Bank, showing 03330459560, which I know is a legit Lloyds number, so I clicked yes by mistake. Now I’m on the phone to Lloyds trying to figure out if I’ve been scammed. Been stuck on hold for about 15 minutes now.

I got a text saying it was from Halifax after my card got declined, asking me to reply yes or no. They even had my card details and purchase time which was a bit creepy. What’s odd is that at the exact same moment, I also got a legit message from Halifax. Makes me wonder how those scammers managed to send their message at the perfect time. I reckon it’d be super easy for anyone new to banking to get tricked by this.

I bought something at a nearby store and shortly after got a message, then a call about 10 minutes later. The caller said they were from Lloyd's bank. I decided to pop into the bank to ask about it. They just asked if I actually bought the item, and when I confirmed, they said everything was legit.

There are two comments below that explain how to handle possible scam calls, but is this actually a scam? If you’re a customer of Lloyds Bank or any of their subsidiaries, it’s best to ring them directly using the number on the back of your card just to be safe. Don’t just brush off the call. All the reports mentioned here seem to be linked to Lloyds Bank firms. Also, make sure your phone line is working properly before contacting the bank.
