It actually mentioned the exact price I was expecting to pay, even though the Dominos site was showing my payment hadn’t gone through. I replied 'yes' and then the payment processed successfully through the official app. It felt more genuine than some random spam text. The phone number looked pretty normal too, which could seem a bit off but I can’t really figure out what a scammer would gain from that message, especially since it came right after my real order attempt.

I tried ordering Domino's the other day and got this text from an unknown number. The message had the exact amount I'd spent, and the Domino's site was showing my payment hadn't gone through. I replied 'yes', then the payment went through using the official Domino's app. It definitely seemed genuine, not just some random spam. This number has been leaving me voicemails and texts saying they’ll stop my card payments unless I verify some purchase I don’t even know about. The text followed a weird call on my landline from a different dodgy number playing a recorded message pretending to be Bank of Scotland. The bank told me they never make automated calls and all their official numbers start with 0345 - definitely just another common scam attempt.

I got in touch with Lloyds customer service, and they connected me to their fraud department. They told me the number I’d been contacted on was definitely from Lloyds. Earlier, I had a message from them advising me to watch out for a text from a mobile number, which was new to me. I didn’t call back because it seemed fishy. When I checked my bank statement, I noticed a tiny admin fee of 23p last month, which I think was from when I registered my PCR covid test at Gatwick. Pretty strange situation overall, but thankfully nothing else has happened since that message on 1st July.
