i got a call from a woman saying she was from some repair company, after i apparently filled out an online form about fixing my tv aerial. she asked me to pay £65 for an engineer, but couldn’t give any proper info about the company or where they were. she even mispronounced the town name, which seemed odd. when i started asking for more details she hung up straight away. pretty obvious it was a scam. never gave her my card info.

This number seemed a bit dodgy to me. A woman with an Aussie accent rang up claiming she was getting back to me about an oven fix enquiry. She said her name was Chariotte and that she worked for a place called The Repair Store. I ended up trusting her and handed over my credit card info to book an engineer visit. She sounded really genuine, but the number she gave me - 0800246585 - and the one she called from didn't add up. I've had to ring my bank straight away to freeze my card now.
