This afternoon, my elderly neighbour who’s 93 got a call from a woman with a thick foreign accent, just as I was popping over to see her. The neighbour passed me the phone, and the woman started with “Hello ma’am, I’m calling from Microsoft about some issues with your computer.” I cut her off straight away, told her my neighbour wouldn’t even know what a computer is, and called it out as a scam. Not surprising, she hung up immediately.

Got a call from 07720295391 saying they were from Microsoft. I was about to hang up since they jumped straight in as soon as I said hello, which annoyed me. Told them I’m not even a Microsoft user and asked them to contact me by email or post instead. Didn’t bother paying attention to what they tried to say after that.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft. I told them I work in Microsoft’s fraud team and asked where they were located. As soon as I asked that, they just cut the call.

Some bloke called himself "Andrew" from Microsoft, saying there was paella inside my computer. I told him paella’s a type of rice dish, but he was dead set I had paella. He kept going on about some licence ID supposedly tucked away in my machine, insisting we'd fixed the problem or something. I couldn’t help but laugh - it was actually quite funny, almost made up for the hassle of getting this dodgy call. I was about to mention I run GNU/Linux, but he cut me off before I got the chance.

Got a call today claiming to be from Microsoft, but it was clearly a scam since Microsoft never rings up their users. I hung up straight away and blocked the number to be safe.

Got a call from this number tricking an elderly gentleman, convincing him there was an emergency and his daughter urgently needed £1850. They even reached out through the computer and later acted like another relative asking for more cash. Of course, when trying to call back, there’s no answer. Seems connected to 01302 897519 as well.

I got a call from someone saying he was with Microsoft, some Indian guy, telling me my PC was flashing warnings or something. I told him I was about to leave, but he kept pushing, insisting on helping right away. I told him to ring me back later. Now he’s set to call again on Monday. Really glad I looked up this number here first!

They rang me up two times. First time I picked up, no sound at all. Second time, just as I answered, they seemed to cut the call immediately. Strange behaviour really.

Just like a few others here, I got a call from someone named Andrew Matthews, who sounded like he was from India. I asked him what steps I needed to take to fix the issues he mentioned. When he said I had to log in, I said I was recording the conversation, and straight away he hung up. I've blocked the number since then.

This number kept calling me every single morning and I finally picked up today. Same story as before, something about Microsoft. We had a bit of a chat and I told him how shameful it was to scam folks like that. He didn’t hang up right away, so I asked where he was calling from. He weirdly asked if I wanted to meet him! I told him he should seriously find a proper, decent job because what he’s doing is just plain wrong. After that, he cut the call.

I got a call from a bloke named John who claimed to be from Microsoft about our software licence. When I asked how he knew I owned a computer, he said it was linked to Microsoft, which is how he somehow knew my name (which he did) and my phone number. I told him I wasn’t convinced, and then he got quite angry, threatening to delete the software and block the PC. I just told him to do his worst because I suspected it was a con and ended the call. So far, the computer’s still working fine! :-)

Got a call from this number a bit ago, sounded just like the others people mentioned here. I told them I don't even own a laptop or a computer, then asked how they even got my info. They asked if I could put my partner on the phone instead. When I asked for their number to give to my partner, they didn't take it well and got pretty annoyed. I checked my call log and sure enough, the number was there.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer was badly infected and messing up my internet. I played dumb for a while just to see where he’d go with it, but then I told him straight up that I wasn’t daft and knew it was all a scam. He went off on one, calling me thick, said everyone he chatted to was stupid, even had a pop at the Queen! After a few minutes of his rant, he just hung up on me.

Some bloke rang claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my internet was about to get cut off or something. I just went "So?" and gave a pause. When he didn’t say anything, I repeated, "So?" again. No answer, and then he hung up. If I get another call from someone with that accent trying the same act, I’m gonna tell them to head back to Falklands Road in Mumbai without a doubt.

This person claimed to work for Microsoft. I told them I didn’t even have a PC, which made them really annoyed. They said they were going to block my computer and then just ended the call.

This bloke claimed he was from Microsoft and wanted me to switch my PC on. Honestly, I think they take us for mugs! I told him my hubby had already taken it to work. He said he’d ring me back tonight but I told him I was tied up. Then he said he’d call again Monday. I tried to get his number but he kept dodging while probably searching for the real Microsoft contact. I dialled *1471 and got this number. Funny how so many people are warning about this one, huh? They’ll keep pestering until they catch someone who falls for it. Proper annoying. Some people are just plain rotten.

At around 10:15, I got a call from a bloke who said his name was John and claimed to be ringing from Microsoft. I wasn't having any of it, so I told him to jog on, sorry for the language, and hung up straight away.

Another call from a call centre pretending to be Microsoft. I told the guy I knew it was a scam, and he just started yelling, "You listen to me! You listen to me!" then immediately ended the call. I've blocked the number now.
