Glad I checked into this first, because it turned out to be a total scam. Would've been dodgy otherwise.

Got a message claiming "Dad, this is my new number" and decided to humour it just to find out what they wanted (I'm a 38-year-old woman, not a dad by any means). Turns out, it’s a total scam about owing over £1700 in rent arrears and needing me to send money because apparently, he can't access his account with the new number. They tried pulling the usual online banking stuff but it didn’t fly with me. Definitely a con.
