Beware of these COVID scams where they try to get you to "order" free coronavirus test kits that aren’t really free. It’s all a trick. Just got a call about it myself.

+44 7719 687497 rang me saying I’d been around someone who tested positive for covid and that I needed to get a test kit. Thing is, I’ve hardly been anywhere except work for the past 14 days, so it smells like a scam to me. Also, the only others at work are my managers and neither of them have mentioned anything about anyone being unwell, so I’m pretty sure it’s a con.

Got a message saying someone called H Abdullah was added to my Santander account, and it had a link attached. Definitely seems like a scam to me.

Got a message from 07517142206 saying that Simon tried to drop off a parcel but nobody was in. The text had a link to reschedule and track the delivery: https;//postoffice-depot38.com. Definitely looks like a smishing scam to me.

Got another message about some delivery that never happened. Do these idiots honestly believe we're that gullible? I've blocked the number already.

Got a text saying my parcel delivery for James didnt go through today. It said to sort out a new delivery day I should go to https://local-depot-go.co.uk. Bit worried it might be dodgy tho.

Got a message from this number claiming they’d tried to deliver a parcel but missed me. The text had a link to what looked like a Royal Mail site, where it told me to enter my phone number and address to track the package. Then it asked for £1.45 to organise a new delivery and requested my card info. I didn’t go any further since Royal Mail never charges for re-delivery. Sounds like a total scam to me.

Got a call saying I'd been near someone with an infection, and suddenly they wanted me to buy a PCR test kit. Felt like a total scam to me.
