My missus got a call from some bot claiming she'd be nabbed for not paying her taxes! Said he was from HMRC and that she had to cough up a grand straight away over the phone, or the cops would be at the door within an hour. Classic con, obviously blocked them!

Watch out, this is one of those HMRC scam calls. They claim I’m involved in some tax fraud and threaten that I’ll be arrested. Honestly, if you haven’t heard about this before, it’s quite alarming!

Got a call recently from a number just like this one. Honestly, do these con artists really believe we’d fall for the idea that HMRC would ring us up on our mobiles? I always thought HMRC gets in touch through letters, never by phone, especially not on a mobile. It’s obvious rubbish really.

Got a call from a number kinda like this once. Do these crooks really believe people would fall for the idea that HMRC would ring on their mobile? Honestly, HMRC usually sends letters, they don't just call, and definitely not to your mobile phone!

Someone rang saying they were from HMRC, talking about my tax return. Seemed a bit fishy, didn’t sound quite right to me. Definitely felt like one of those scam calls trying to catch you out.
