I received a rather dubious message claiming that I could be eligible for £3750 due to some supposed accident involving me. It encouraged me to respond to the text to see if I qualified for this so-called payout. Not wanting to engage with what was obviously a scam, I decided to delete the message without replying. However, I did use a payphone to call the number they provided in an attempt to play a little prank on them. They answered for a short while but then my call was redirected to O2's voicemail. Fingers crossed this approach will end up costing them a pretty penny to retrieve my voicemail!

"Just got a text saying I might be due £3750 for an accident I apparently had. It instructed me to reply with AID if I wanted to claim for free, and if not, I could just text 'stop' to opt out. Obviously a scam, so we opted to delete the message without responding. However, we decided to ring the number using a public payphone just for a laugh and to mess with them a bit. It rang for ages before being redirected to O2's voicemail. Fingers crossed it cost them a bit to check the voicemail we left!"
