I kept getting calls from someone who insisted it was BT or BT Openreach - like they owned every internet connection out there! They kept asking for me by name and even had the nerve to call me "love", which was pretty off. They claimed my line had loads of hacking issues and wanted to sort it out. The more I told them I didn’t even have a computer, the more irritable they got. I hung up when they started pushing me to use my mobile, which made me think they were trying to install malware on all sorts of devices.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, telling me my computer was hacked. I asked them to clarify which device, since I’ve got both a laptop and a desktop. After that, the person just abruptly ended the call. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

There was this woman with an Asian accent, and in the background, you could hear a lot of noise like a busy call centre full of dodgy people. Right from the start, with her all sweet and 'good morning, how’s your day going?' it felt dodgy as anything. I didn’t hang about, just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from Virgin Media. She said some foreigners were messing with my router. I told her I didn’t buy her story and called her a nasty scammer. She started getting a bit aggressive, but I just chuckled and waited for her to hang up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft, saying my computer was sending info out online. I told them Microsoft never calls people outta the blue. They insisted, saying they were from Microsoft right now. I joked that the number they were calling from was dodgy and that I was King John the 15th. Then they swore at me and hung up pretty quick.
