Back in 2014, I did put in a listing but didn’t think it actually worked, and when I spoke to them later, I told them I wanted to cancel it. Gary said I’d agreed to a two-year deal and owed more money, which I disputed but ended up paying because he threatened to take legal action - something I couldn’t afford to fight. They kept contacting me with the same story (this is the OBD COMPANY). Later, I got an invoice with terms saying you have to end the contract in writing, but everything had been done over the phone. When I confronted Gary about why my request to cancel hadn’t been processed, he said he didn’t know about it and was taken aback. Nowhere was I told I needed to write to quit, and I never agreed to an ongoing contract. He kept talking about an invoice they supposedly sent us, but we’ve never seen anything like that before. When I asked him which company he was with and how much money he said we owed, he refused to say. Felt like he was just trying to scam us out of cash. He insisted we had a contract with them, but as far as I’m aware, we don’t have any contract with anyone like that. He was pretty cocky and kept going on about sorting things out by gathering evidence, but when I asked what evidence he had, he got all shifty and wouldn’t answer.
