I just got a call from some robot telling me my National Insurance number was about to be frozen by the National Crime Agency. It’s a total scam. Usually, if there’s any problem with your NI number, you’d get a letter through the post, like all official things from HMRC. Plus, they wouldn’t be using some automated recorded message - any legit contact would be something you'd have to start yourself by phoning them. So don’t buy into it!
