On the 4th of September 2026 at about 9:35, the phone kept ringing for ages, but as soon as I answered, there was nothing but silence. Definitely a scam.

Picked up the phone and the person claimed to be from BT. They asked if I was Mrs XX, which I denied. Then they mentioned Mr XX’s broadband account. I told them that couldn’t be right because he’s been gone for four decades, and then I just ended the call.
