Got a call from this number saying they were from Margaret's Court Beliefs, claiming to have a writ from the high court. They managed to get me to pay nearly £300 over the phone. The strange thing was they called on a Saturday, when the court is obviously shut. I checked with the actual court and they had no idea what I was talking about. Reported it to the police already, definitely a dodgy scam, not real bailiffs at all.

Just a heads up, I'm sorting this out with the police because some bloke called Nigel Newman rang me up saying he’s a bailiff from Northampton County Court, collecting debts for HMRC. He said he’s from a firm called Vinning Associates, but after checking, Northampton County Court told me they’ve got just two bailiffs, and neither goes beyond Northampton nor have that name. Plus, there’s no company registered as Vinning Associates. If you get a call like this, best to get in touch with the cops straight away.
