Proper nasty bloke called Dave from UK Benefits kept hounding me about life insurance. When I told him to take me off their list, he started swearing at me big time. Then out of nowhere, I got bombarded with calls from loads of different numbers right after. Truly horrible experience.

Pretty typical call from an Asian guy trying to pitch life insurance. I’ve been in financial services for 34 years, 18 of those in insurance, so I told him he didn’t know much. To mess with him, I said I probably knew more about insurance than he ever would. He didn’t like that one bit, so I told him to jog on and ended the call. Just blocked the number now and added it to my blacklist!

Got a call from an asian guy who said my surname right at the start like “Mr Smith,” then just hung up straight away. Felt like he was checking if the name matched the number, maybe for some dodgy ID fraud. So now I never give my name if they call, just ask who they are instead.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the benefits dept, so I asked why they were calling me on a mobile if that’s true. They just hung up straight away. I’d say this number’s definitely dodgy and be careful with it.

Got one of those boring scam calls again, all about benefits or insurance or some ppi nonsense, coming from loads of different mobile numbers every single day. I've started blocking them all now, honestly everyone should if you can get BT's call protect - it keeps track of all the numbers you’ve blocked and stops these annoying calls from bothering you.
