A man, maybe Asian, claiming to be from the DWP, called me. When I rang back, he picked up saying “DWP, how can I assist?” I asked why he called, since he said he was from the NCA and asked for my NI number. He warned if I didn’t give it, a warrant would be out for me and my NI number would be cancelled. When I called back again, he answered “DWP” but as soon as I said he wasn’t from the NCA, he hung up. Seems like he forgot to hide his number. Now he’s ignoring my calls. Be careful, if he’s truly with the DWP, people’s personal info could be at risk.
