got a call from someone claiming to be from my mortgage company asking for info about my mortgage. i told him if he really was, he’d already know my age but he kept pressing me for details. i refused to give anything and told him to send it in writing, then he just hung up. rang up my actual mortgage provider and they confirmed it wasn’t them.

I got a call from someone asking for me but the surname they gave was nothing like mine! Turns out they’d dialled my son-in-law’s number by mistake.

Won’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t know anymore. They kept ringing and after reading other reviews here, I’m glad I didn’t. Be careful with these!

Got a call from a woman, said her name was Suzanne, sounded like one of those usual cold call salesy types. When I asked her which company she was with, she just repeated the phone number she was ringing from. After pressing a bit more, it seemed she was trying to pitch some “present protection life insurance” if I understood her broken English right. The weird bit was she knew my and my wife’s first Christian names. Felt more like annoying harassment, maybe even dodgy. Best just to hang up straight away.

Got a call from someone called "Rian," who was pushing life insurance policies.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from Nationwide, but it was clearly a scam. Didn’t give him any info and just ended the call straight away.

The caller didn’t even know my name, they just asked for the “owner of this number.” I told them I wasn’t interested and hung up, then blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone saying it was about life insurance. When he started asking how much I pay, I told him that’s private and those questions were a bit much. I asked him to explain what exactly he was offering, and he first said he wasn’t selling anything. But then, when I pressed, he admitted he was selling insurance. Didn’t share any personal info with him, so no clue how risky they might be or where they got my number. Pretty sure it was a call centre.
