Got a message from 07707993230 claiming to be HMRC, saying I could get a tax refund of £285.44 but needed to give my card info first. That just didn’t feel right, why would they ask for card details to send me money? Best to just delete and not trust it - looks like a scam to me.

Absolute nonsense, I tell ya! It's all just a scam. They said they were from HMRC, claiming I'd committed tax fraud and that I might get arrested. Don't be taken in by this!

Got a message from someone pretending to be HMRC saying I’m owed £285.45 in tax refunds. The text had a dodgy link that looks like a phishing attempt. HMRC never contacts you this way. If you reckon you should get a refund, always get in touch with HMRC yourself. Don’t bother with this number - block it quick! And whatever you do, don’t click on that link!
