Got a text saying it was from Nationwide to confirm a payment, with a number to call or not. My partner called it straight away (didn't say anything!!), spoke to English speakers who seemed really helpful about what might be a scam. He thought everything was fine and rang me to explain. I told him to double-check by searching the bank’s number online and phone that instead. Turns out the “helpful” caller was actually a con artist. Thankfully, they caught the fake credit card and stopped the payments in under 10 minutes. Phew!
