Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT Openreach, saying my router was sending error alerts and they needed to check my internet speed remotely. They couldn’t provide a landline number to prove it, kept giving me odd numbers with just one or two digits, and some started with 0 but none matched the London area code where they claimed to be. I quickly ran a speed test while still on the call and got 180mbps, which is pretty decent. They ended the call straight away, must’ve realised I’d caught on!
