Some bloke rang me pretending to be from Citizens Advice, said they were after some debt and wanted to know if I was in an IVA. I told him to quit ringing me, but he called me back three times! Citizens Advice wouldn’t do that, they don’t chase people for money!

A chap rang me up purporting to be from Citizens Advice, insisting that I had some outstanding debt and that they’d received a tip-off about a company trying to chase me for money via them. I promptly told him to clear off and hung up. He immediately called back asking if I was involved in an IVA. I reiterated my desire for him to not contact me again, before hanging up once more. Would you believe it, he tried again! I confronted him, stating I was fully aware he wasn’t representing Citizens Advice and that his persistent calls were verging on illegal. I repeated my instruction for him to leave me be, to which he audaciously responded with a 'why?!' It’s brazen, honestly - clearly some kind of scam aimed at either getting my financial information or pushing an IVA onto unsuspecting folks. I’ll be blocking this number posthaste, but I’ve no doubt another will ring through soon enough!
