SCAM alert from HSBC: Just got a message saying my card was charged £279.99 on 24/11/2024 at AMAZON.CO.UK (Ref: #HWKEX5F8). They claim the payment was refused and ask me to reply ‘Y’ if I made the purchase. Otherwise, they tell you to call 0330 220 4414 or +443302204414 if abroad. Definitely sounds dodgy!

HSBC just rang me about a recent online purchase on amazon.co.uk for £279.99 on 24/11/2024. They said the card was declined, and if I didn’t make the payment I should ring them back straight away on 0330 220 4414 (or +44 3302 204414 from abroad). Guess it’s best to check with them asap if you get a message like that!
