My dad got a text saying “mum, I broke my phone…” but it’s totally a SCAM.

I got text messages from 07784330046 and 07706307809 that seemed dodgy. They were pretending to be family saying their phone was broken and asking to call from a mate's phone. I blocked both numbers and marked them as spam right away to avoid any hassle.

Got a dodgy text just now saying something like: “Hey Mum, I broke my phone. My mate’s letting me use theirs to text you but it’s nearly dead. Can you text me on this new number 07706307809? Cheers x” Definitely sounded fishy to me!

Got a message from 07599923264 saying something like, "Mum I've broken my phone. My mate is helping me send texts but their battery's dying. Can you text me on my new number 07706307809?" Thing is, I’m not the mum, I’m the dad, and it didn't say which kid it was supposed to be. Not falling for that one!
