I reckon this bloke was trying to swipe about £900 off me. I got a recorded voicemail saying there’d been an attempt to take money off my Visa, so I was connected to some operator who said I could stop the payment. They never said their name or where they were calling from though. When I mentioned I only had 12p in the account, they didn’t push further, but if I hadn’t, I’m pretty sure they wanted my card info. The guy sounded like he was from a call centre, had an Asian accent, and then just hung up on me.
