Just had a call like that, I told them to buzz off and then they put the phone down. Definitely a scam.

This number has been ringing us quite a bit lately, usually with no one on the line. But today, a woman actually spoke to my husband, said she was calling from BT and told him to turn on his computer - just like what others have said. My husband wasn’t convinced and told her so, then she just ended the call. They even started calling really early in the morning, like at 7:40am, which is annoying. After the chat today, they've rang twice more! Absolutely ridiculous.

Today, I had a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach. She mentioned that the call was being recorded and accused someone of using my wifi for some sort of scam. I kept asking her why this was happening and why she needed to get into my computer, but she just got annoyed and ended the call. Honestly, I was about to hang up anyway after nearly six minutes.

She sounded like it was urgent and said because I pay the bills, it was down to me to sort it out by opening my computer. But when I asked if someone could call me from a UK office, she just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be Annie on 07704465646. I started chatting with her about her baby since we get calls like this all the time and I thought I’d have a proper chat. She just dropped the call. Then, she phoned me back about an hour later and ended the call as soon as I picked up. I’m now trying to get BT Protect involved to block the number. Even though I’m registered with the telephone preference service, I still get these annoying scam calls saying there’s something wrong with my broadband.

A mate of mine got totally scammed by this lot, she ended up sending nearly £500 in two quick payments and let them control her computer remotely, who knows what else they've messed with. Definitely reporting it, pure fraud.

Got a call claiming to be from BT Broadband, but it felt dodgy, like some kind of scam. I reckon they might be trying to take over your computer if you’re not careful. Watch out, people!

Watch out, this was one of those dodgy scam calls trying to get into my computer and then squeeze money out of me. They pretended to be from BT Openreach, telling me my PC was infected and that I'd need to give them remote access to sort it. I just hung up straight away!
