She never mentioned which company she was from but claimed my computer was connected to a Public line instead of a Private one. She said she’d connect me to a “Secure BT Line” to fix the problem. Asked if I had a smartphone or an internet-enabled TV. I told her no, I don’t use them for internet at all, which seemed to throw her off a bit LOL. Told her to wait for about 10 minutes while I went to turn my computer on upstairs. After a while I heard the call drop, so I hung up. She called me back straight away. This time I called her out on being a scammer. Then she warned me that BT would disconnect my line if I didn’t let her help. I asked her age, but she refused to say, saying it was “Private” and asked why I wanted to know. I replied that she’d probably ask for personal info soon enough. I told her she should find a proper job instead of stealing from people. Managed to keep her tied up for quite some time.
