Had a quick call with my kid first, then I saw a text pop up but realised it was a scam from the start.

Got a text from this number today, and I’m sure it’s some kind of scam. The message said something like, “Hi mum, I’ve broken my phone and I’m using my mate’s but it’s nearly dead, can you WhatsApp me on my new number please x,” then gave the number 07493420912 to call. I was suspicious straight away because I’d just left hospital on the way back home, and my sons never call me mum - they say mom. Plus, they’d check in on me after my surgery, not send random texts like that. Do yourself a favour and avoid these numbers entirely.

I just got a call from someone saying they're with HMRC, warning me about some fraud using my name. They told me to hit 1 on the phone. Fishy if you ask me.
