Got a message from Fat Lama, looked like spam to me after finding the number linked to a Gumtree ad. Proper annoying!

Got a couple calls like this recently. They always kick off with some weird line like “this might sound odd, but can I hire this off you?” Honestly, who else would it be but these annoying pob##ks.

Got a text from someone asking if they could hire out an item I’d put up for sale on Gumtree. They said they wanted to do the rental properly through Fat Llama. I replied saying I might consider renting it and asked what they needed it for and the duration. Didn’t hear back till the next day when they sent a very unclear message saying it was for a work thing, about 3 or 4 days. I then asked what price they had in mind and then silence again. Seems a bit dodgy, maybe some marketing trick linked to Fat Llama?
