Someone called claiming to be “Jane” from “Jobsite” - which is a genuine job board but doesn’t actually recruit themselves - asking if I wanted a full or part-time job paying up to £30 an hour. She was on a noisy, hectic call centre line and had such a thick accent I barely caught one word out of five. Totally obvious she was reading from a script. Their main goal seemed to be pushing me onto WhatsApp to chat with a “manager” who’d explain the job properly. Honestly, if I had the time and patience, I’d love to mess about with these muppets.

I told her firms legally need to check the TPS list before calling, but she brushed it off, saying she was offering me a job.
