Pretty sure it was Uber Eats. I didn’t pick up but the app showed my driver had just rung me. I checked with him and he said he did try calling. From what I know, Uber Eats drivers call through the app, so they don’t actually get to see your real number or any personal info. So I reckon the app creates a fake number for the call. That explains why loads of people seem to be getting calls from strange numbers. I’m in Cornwall myself, so just wondering if others on here are nearby too. But yeah, I’m certain it’s Uber Eats.

Just got a call today, 29/7/23, didn’t bother answering. But I did pick up an earlier call with a number that ended in 7 instead of 4, and it was some Asian guy saying something about me ordering an Uber - or at least I think that’s what he meant. Thing is, I’m not even in the UK right now, haven’t been back for over a year, so no way I’d be booking a UK Uber lol.

I’m pretty sure this number isn’t from Uber Eats. I’ve had calls from this and a couple of other numbers that are almost the same apart from the last digit, a few times over the past few weeks. They never leave a voicemail or call back quickly like a usual delivery driver would. Plus, I don’t even use Uber Eats. I’d understand if it was a wrong number once or twice, but it’s happened way too many times to be a coincidence.
