Received a call from someone purporting to be from Citizens Advice, asking for information about my debt repayments. Seems highly dubious to me-definitely a scam. I'm blocking that number straight away!

They rang saying they were from Sky, and my mum picked up and thought it was legit. But when they said we owed more than £200, she passed me the phone. I told the woman we didn't owe anything, and she got annoyed and demanded I hand the phone back to my mum, saying she didn’t want to deal with me! I’ve blocked the number now.

They rang me twice yesterday, and when I picked up, some bloke was looking for a Grace. Told him he’d got the wrong number and then ended the call. After seeing what others have written, I’m definitely blocking this number now.

My phone rang a couple times but the caller just hung up, really hope the network does something about this number. From what I’ve read in other reviews, it seems like it’s been blocked now.

Got a call in the morning asking if I had any loans, I said no. They then asked if I was sure, I said yeah. Then they just hung up. Later in the afternoon, another call came through asking for someone else. When I told the guy I wasn’t that person, he accused me of lying. Strange stuff.

This number says its from Citizens Advice and acts like they already know who you are and about your debts. Citizens Advice doesn’t call people like this, so you should block it and report it to Action Fraud straight away.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from the citizen advice bureau and they were really aggressive. Has anyone else experienced this?

This person said they were from the "credit debt recovery department" but when I asked what company they were with, all they could say was "credit debt recovery department." Then I asked if they had a website or a phone number to call back, and they just said no and ended the call. Totally sounds like a scam trying to fish for info. I don't owe anything and they even mixed up my name. TIP: Always ask for a real phone number or website. Legit companies will gladly share that info, but scammers try to dodge it. Never hand over any personal details at all.

This number rang me! I messd about with them till they asked how much debt I had, told em zero lol. They asked if I was jokin with them, I said yup. Then they said “No very good! I play with you daily now.” Their English was awful! Proper rude spam call.

someone said they were from citizens advice and wanted to help sort out my debts. hung up as soon as i said i dont owe anything. had a look on citizens advice site and they clearly say they don’t do cold calls.

Got a call from someone saying they were Jack at Citizens Advice - I asked for a reference number, coz if they really knew me they’d have my info already! Kept questioning them about what they actually knew. Then I asked to speak to a manager. Some bloke even more rude than the first one said he was a supervisor, went by “Barbie Johnson” lol. He just hung up after I kept pushing for details. Best to just ignore or hang up quick & block the number on your phone.

I got a call saying it was about some debt issues. I rang back loads of times, ended up in a row with the guy and warned I’d report the number. Then he just hung up on me.

Got a call about some debt, they kept asking for someone else's name, not mine. When I told them I wasn’t who they were after, they accused me of lying. They kept pushing me for my name and said they could assist with unsecured debts - which I dont have at all!

This number seems proper dodgy given all the complaints popping up today. Most likely spam, so best to ignore it. But if you’re feeling a bit mischievous and wanna wind someone up, give it a go. I’ve just blacklisted it myself.
