They just said something like “are (xxx xxx)” and then told me they’ll take me off their list. Then they hung up straight away.

A woman with a rather exotic accent rang me on my mobile, claiming to be from EE. She asked if I had an active contract with them and tried to entice me to top up my account with £10, £15, or even £20. Then she proceeded to ask me to confirm my address, which I firmly declined, telling her I top up only when necessary. The line was rather poor, and we were abruptly cut off. Quite a peculiar call, indeed!
