5 yearsThere was a brief pause before the call was answered, then a recorded message started - spoken by a man with a clear, mature voice, definitely not a young one. He claimed to be from a national insurance crime security unit and said my national insurance number had been removed because of suspicious criminal activity linked to it. It all sounded quite serious and genuine, and he asked me to press 1 to speak to an official about it.
