Got a call from someone who wanted to speak to a random person. I told him he must have dialled the wrong number, then he had the cheek to ask me what the correct number was! Like I’m some sort of phone book or something!

I cant believe how rude these PPI and bank scam callers are. Honestly, there should be tougher laws to put an end to this rubbish.

I got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent who somehow already had my full name, date of birth and address. He told me I was owed £3000 in PPI from a loan he mentioned by name. When I asked him to send details over email, he suddenly turned quite aggressive, so I just hung up.

Some dodgy bloke rang me up trying to flog a boiler, complete with loads of rubbish. Proper muppet.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who knew my name and postcode straight away. He said I’d been picked out for some kind of payout from the FSA. All they wanted was for me to give over my bank info, promising the cash would be in my account in a day. It was obviously a scam - when I asked why I was eligible, he couldn’t give me a straight answer at all.

Just like everyone else, he had my name all wrong and kept switching up the amount of compensation I was supposed to get. I messaged with him for a bit just for a laugh, but then he was the one who ended the call! The bloke sounded Indian. Tried calling the number back afterwards but it was disconnected. Stay clear of these lot!! They really ought to be taken down!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming my name was nominated for a free boiler swap. Yeah, right! Felt like he thought I was daft or something. I simply told him no cheers and ended the call quick smart, even though he was keen to keep chatting. Seriously, don’t hand over any personal info to these lot.

They called about replacing my boiler for free. As soon as I mentioned I already got a new one, they switched to asking if I had loft insulation. Pretty sure it was one of those dodgy Indian scammers.

Got a call from a pair, a bloke and a woman, both sounding dead serious saying they worked with HMRC and some financial regulators. They knew my full name, birthday and even where I live. Said I won £2010 from some PPI claim, but if I didn’t cough up some tax or pay £950 upfront, I’d only get half of it. They insisted I had to take out a life insurance policy to claim the full payout. When I told the guy I actually work for HMRC, he got all huffy and tried to say I was making it up. Honestly, be careful with calls like this!

Just got a call at 1:24 pm from someone saying I’d won £400 from a PPI claim? I said ok and asked who exactly on HSBC’s side was calling. They told me my postcode and address spot on. When they wanted my date of birth, I told them they should already have that if they were checking my details properly. Then the line went dead!

just got a ring from a bloke with an indian accent claiming i was owed £1800 from a PPI claim from a couple years ago, and he even knew my old address. i told him the line was fuzzy and asked for his number so i could ring him back, but he just hung up on me! i then tried calling the number back, which this site showed as vodafone, but it’s disconnected now. fingers crossed these scammers vanish for good by the time the PPI claim deadline rolls around next year!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian or Pakistani accent. Said he was with The National Refund Agency and that my PPI claim had gone through. Told him there’s no such place and I’ve got no PPI claim pending, so he was definitely a scammer. He then called me daft, started swearing at me, and ended the call. Pretty much confirms it’s a scam. Thinking about what to do next now...

I just got a call saying I owed around £1900 or maybe it was £1985, they kept flip flopping on the amount. Turns out it was one of those PPI scams. For a laugh, I decided to humour them a bit. It was hilarious how often the guy kept contradicting himself. Took me just 5 mins before I hung up. Absolute muppets, these scammers will try any trick in the book.

Just got a call a minute ago and they already knew my postcode and address, which was spot on. I naively told them my birthday, then they started asking for my bank info. I refused, and then this woman with an Indian or Pakistani accent asked how she could send the money. I told her to send me some proper paperwork if it was real, and then she just hung up!
