They claim to be from the benefits office, but that’s not right at all - it’s totally misleading what they’re saying.

I picked up and there was nothing at first, then a bloke with an Indian accent came on and asked if he was speaking to me by name. I asked who it was and he said he was ‘John’ from some consumer company or whatever. I just said ‘not the right number’, then hung up and blocked it straight away. Felt pretty suspect to me.

Got a silent ring from this number, usually means some dodgy call centre just trying to trick you into giving away your details. Better be careful with these ones.

They keep ringing me up, and it’s not just this one number. They kept saying something about UK benefits and wanted to ask me a few questions. I told them I’d never heard of their company and asked what benefits they meant. When I tried to get more details about what they actually do and who they were, they just cut me off. I’ve blocked the number now, but I’m pretty sure they’ll try again.
