7 yearsI received a rather dodgy call earlier. The caller struggled to string together a sentence in English, mind you! They claimed to be from Virgin Media, insisting I had some sort of issue with my internet. Honestly, I told him to take a hike, and then the line went dead. When I tried redialling, it turned out the number was non-existent. To top it all off, my phone flagged it as a premium rate call. Quite the nuisance, if you ask me!Virgin Media7 yearsJust got a call from 07638969827. I picked up, there was a man who said something quickly before hanging up. Honestly, I'm going to block this number on my phone now!7 yearsSome bloke rang me, claimed to be from call blocking or summat, then asked if I was still bothered by nuisance calls (bit daft really). I told him yeah, especially yours. After that, he just went quiet.7 yearsI had a chap ring me up purporting to be from Call Blockers, inquiring whether I was still experiencing nuisance calls (what a daft question!). I responded with a curt 'yes... like yours...' and, just like that, it went quiet on their end. The number? 07638969827.7 yearsI got calls from a couple of landlines and then this last number rang me up. They claimed to be from HMRC and tried to convince me I owed nearly £14,000. Definitely a scam.HMRC7 yearsGot a missed call but no voicemail was left behind.7 yearsgot a call saying it was from sky about my broadband but the call dropped before they could say anything else. what’s weird is that i actually had issues with my internet just yesterday and checked my sky account to look for any errors. how on earth did they find that out?? makes me feel a bit uneasy.Sky7 yearsI’ve been getting this peculiar call on my mobile quite frequently. Each time the phone rings, and as soon as I pick up, it goes dead. Quite frustrating, to say the least! It's worth noting that these sorts of calls can often be dodgy, so do exercise caution. They might be trying to fish for your details, adding you to some list to be sold off later. Definitely seems like a scam. Strangely enough, if you try to ring back, a robotic voice informs you that the number doesn’t connect. - Caller: Unknown "silent caller".7 yearsThe individual on the other end claimed to be representing HMRC. I've already flagged this to the authorities. The caller indicated they were from HMRC.HMRC7 yearsGot a super quick robocall, couldn’t really catch the guy’s name. Just another trickster trying to con me. I decided to have a bit of fun and acted as if I was following their instructions, typing away like a numpty. Absolute joke!Virgin7 yearsGot a call from this guy claiming to be James, said something about my BT internet not working. He said I sounded Asian or something, which was weird. I played along for a bit, but then told him off pretty bluntly and told him to piss off. Definitely wasn’t with BT!JamesBT7 yearsGot a call from an Asian bloke with a poor grasp of English who claimed he was calling from Sky. He mentioned some problems with my Sky modem and said my internet was down, which wasn't true at all. He wanted to know how many lights were lit on my router, but I told him I wasn't at home to check, then he just suddenly ended the call! I've had a few calls like this before and they always seem to drop off like that. Have put the number on my block list now.SkySubmit Your Own Report (076 3896 9827)
