I got a call from someone with a foreign accent claiming to be from Openreach. They told me there was an issue with my service and asked me to check my router. Then they wanted to get into my computer, which seemed dodgy. When I mentioned I’m actually with Virgin, they said it was the same problem with their router anyway, so I just ended the call.

Today, I got a phone call from these people claiming there was a warrant out for me - it was so awful!

I’ve put the last couple of numbers these idiots called me from on block and just deleted their voicemails. And now they’re using a different number. Fantastic. I’m almost ready for them to come and take me away. Cowards, the lot of them. What really worries me is when they call folks like my mum - she gets all anxious and freaked out.

Got two calls from a blocked number today, didn’t pick up either time. Later, they left a voicemail about a warrant for my arrest. Pretty weird.

Twice today this number rang me, but I never pick up calls from unknown numbers so I ignored it. Usually, my phone lets me block annoying numbers easily, but with this one, it just says "Invalid number" when I try to block it and won't let me. Can anyone explain what's happening here?

Scammers pretending to be from HMRC trying to say theres an arrest warrant out for you! Complete rubbish. Never give them any info or ring back any number they say. Just end the call straight away and make sure you tell HMRC about it. Stay safe!!

These scam calls from people pretending to be police from India are getting out of hand 😂😂😂. Seriously, they keep saying I'm going to be arrested. Ha! I dare them to show up at my place and try it! Honestly, I’ve had enough - time to stop being polite with these lot. No more patience left.

Im a pensioner and these calls really worry me. Its really stressfull getting these random calls all the time. My son told me not to share my info but it was hard to resist. Cant the goverment step in and stop these annoying callers, or do they actually make money from letting it go on?

Got a call from someone claiming to be with HMRC sayin they’ve filed a lawsuit against me and there’s an arrest warrant for me. When I picked up, the person said they were an officer and asked for my date of birth and national insurance number. I just hung up and I’m about to ring HMRC myself to check what’s going on.

Twice in the space of an hour, I got the exact same voicemail. Tried hitting 1 like it told me to connect with a case officer but didn’t get any response. Reading about what others have gone through makes me feel a bit better, but it’s still quite unnerving. I ended up blocking the number. Looks like there’s loads of people reporting this today - seems like they’re running some kind of scam wave!

Give that number to HMRC and let them pass it to their fraud squad. They'll handle it from there. I’m gonna see if I can get the line shut down to stop any more bother.

I had the same call, they claimed HMRC issued an arrest warrant for me. I ended the call straight away, then contacted HMRC directly. They said it’s definitely a scam and asked me to send them the number, time, and a short summary of the call to [email protected]. Don’t ever share any personal info with these callers.

Received a call telling me I supposedly had an outstanding warrant for my arrest, which felt really dodgy. They wanted me to confirm my name and other info.
