Some bloke called claiming to be an "Energy Advisor," or summat like that.

Not sure who that was, they just cut the call and it’s a number I’ve never seen before.

Got a call out of the blue, didn’t bother picking up.

Got a call from someone saying they were an energy expert offering a no-cost insulation inspection.

Some bloke rang up saying he was an energy advisor, claiming my loft insulation needed an update. Thing is, my landline’s ex-directory, which is kinda hard to believe he had it. He just kept going through his little script and when he finally stopped, I told him I actually live in a flat. He just hung up on me straight away!

Someone rang me claiming that energy consultants were active in my area, but when I pressed them for specifics on what or where exactly, they just said their manager would pass the info on later. Then, without any further explanation, they hung up on me.

I got a call from a nicely spoken bloke who said he was my neighbourhood energy advisor. He started talking about loft insulation, but as soon as I asked why he wanted to know about mine, he just ended the call.

Got a call from some bloke claiming they were doing free loft checks. He said our loft insulation was old and might be causing mould issues, or so he reckoned from his info. Felt a bit dodgy, so I passed the phone to my husband, but he just ended the call straight away!

On 25/3/21 I got a call from 07624 087602, a bloke trying to set up a free loft insulation check, saying ours might be faulty. I kept telling him our loft doesn’t have that kind of insulation, but he just carried on like he was reading from a script. After a few times of me saying no, I ended the call. I can see some folks with newer loft insulation might fall for this dodgy scam, so heads up.

Got a call from a guy who sounded really polite, said he was with some energy firm and was trying to arrange a free loft insulation survey around here. He asked me how old I was, then just out of nowhere said thanks and hung up. Bit odd, I’d say just steer clear!

I received a rather dubious call from someone purporting to work for a local energy provider. He started off with, “I assume you’re aware of the government initiative regarding insulation for your loft...” before I promptly ended the conversation. Interestingly, this same chap had tried his luck with me a couple of months back, and it ended just as swiftly. It seems he was also in contact with one of my neighbours on the very same day. Thankfully, she nearly divulged her address for a proposed visit which would involve him checking her loft insulation. However, her phone recognition system flagged that his call was originating from a location far removed from the area he claimed to be representing. We decided to have a look online afterwards and discovered that this particular scam has been making the rounds across the nation, hopping from one region to the next each time a local council issues a caution to its residents.

26/03/21 at about 8:45am, got a call from 07624 087 602, which is an Isle of Man mobile. The caller ID showed “International” before the number, like normal with these calls. I didn’t answer it. Lately, I’ve been getting loads of calls marked “International” from all over the UK - probably about twenty or so. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam. It’s so annoying having to keep blocking these numbers, such a pain in the neck!

I mentioned I was over 80, and then this automatic caller just dropped the line. What a pointless call.

This morning, I got a phone call from this number. The guy said his name was Chris and said he was checking in about some loft insulation work. He came across as really believable and could have easily tricked someone. I told him I wasn’t sure if he’d reached the right person since we haven’t had any insulation done lately. He hung up straight away after that.

I got a call saying something about insulation they supposedly put in my house, but I never had any done. I kept quiet for a bit to check if it was a robot calling. Then someone said "Hello" before hanging up on me.

Got a call today from 07624087602 about loft insulation, claimed I had it done a while ago. That’s rubbish, I sorted mine out myself about 30 years ago! When I asked where they were calling from, the bloke said Reading. Definitely not anyone local or official! After that I just ended the call. This is definitely a SCAM. I’ve dealt with similar calls a few years back. Best thing to do is just hang up straight away.

Got a call from 07624087602, which showed up as an international number at first. The bloke on the phone asked if I was the homeowner and claimed he was from an energy company. Spoke quite clearly, said he was my local energy advisor, which is news to me since I don’t have one! Told him to remove me from their call list and I've since blocked the number. Now, any random numbers calling get the same response from me.

Got a call around 8.15 this morning from someone claiming I could get a free check-up on supposedly dodgy loft insulation. After chatting a bit, he said his boss would call back for a longer survey, lasted about 30 to 40 minutes. I told him I was busy and couldn’t do it, but he just carried on talking like I wasn’t there so I just cut the call. Something didn’t feel right about the whole thing - the caller wouldn’t say where he was calling from clearly. Later on, I found out he’d rung my husband the day before, but he told the guy to leave him alone.

The call went unanswered, and they didn’t bother to leave a message. It’s likely yet another bothersome scammer at work.

Thankfully I didn't pick up when this number rang me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the local energy office for my neighbourhood. Oddly enough, they repeated the exact same pitch as they did yesterday. When I questioned them, they just hung up. Proper annoying!

Got a bloke on the phone yakking about loft insulation, real stubborn bloke trying to get me details. I ended the call quick cos I could tell he was some loser tryna scam me. These people are proper scum, honestly hope nobody bites on their rubbish.

Someone called saying they were checking on my loft insulation, claiming it needed updating because it was old. I asked how they knew that, and they just said, "Sorry for bothering you," before hanging up. Well, they were at least courteous about it!

Got two hang-up calls from Cambridge pretty early this morning.

This bloke called me claiming to be a "Local Energy Advisor" and said he knew I owned the house. I had just answered, so I asked how he knew that, but he ignored me and pushed on with his spiel. I told him I wasn’t interested, but he kept on jabbering until I finally just cut him off.

I attempted to have a chat regarding loft insulation, but they abruptly asked for my personal information and then disconnected the call. Quite frustrating!

I received a call where there was just silence on the other end when I answered it. Quite baffling!

Beware of the loft insulation assessment fraud!

Got a call from this number on my home phone. Right from the start, things felt a bit odd because whenever I asked something, he either ignored it or the line would drop out halfway through what he was saying. The voice didn’t sound genuine at all, kinda like some sort of bot. Weird thing is, when he did answer, he wasn’t completely clueless, but that voice just didn’t sit right with me. Definitely felt strange.

No idea who that was, didn’t pick up.

Was out walking my dog when I decided to check the number.

I already mentioned to the caller that they haven’t done any work for us, but they rang me up again. I repeated the same thing to them.

Kept ringing but nobody answered. These calls are really wearing me down. It's definitely gotten worse since lockdown started.

Really annoying, keeps calling constantly.

Got a call from a nice-sounding young bloke who mentioned my loft insulation might be causing condensation issues. He said they were offering free surveys and asked if he could pop over right away. I told him no thanks and hung up sharpish!

Got a call on my landline from this number twice today. I ignored the first one but picked up the second time. The guy said his name was Chris and was talking about some government-backed insulation put in our loft. Seemed like he was just reading from a script. When I asked if it was about the roof recently done, he hesitated and said it might have been done recently. I told him I’m a tenant so I’m not sure about that. Then he quickly said sorry and thanked me before I ended the call.

Got a call from someone trying to push loft insulation, but I’m on the TPS list. Bit cheeky if you ask me.

When my answering machine picked up, I just ended the call straight away. The number showed up as "International" on my display.

Like the last person said, this annoying bloke claimed he was working on some energy project around where I live, but funny enough, he couldn’t even tell me the exact postcode. Ended up just hanging up on him.

First thing he said was something about home improvements, then he asked how I was feeling today. He mentioned he was from x directory, but I didn't get a good vibe off him. So I just told him I wasn’t interested and hung up.

I got a call about some loft insulation that might’ve been put in with a Government grant. They said it could be linked to the damp and condensation problems that others around our area have had. I had to cut the chat short because I had an urgent call come through. Just wish I’d asked who was calling or which company they were from before I had to end the call so quickly!

When I picked up and my answerphone started, the person on the other end just dropped the call without saying a word.

Number was unfamiliar so I just let it ring out, didnt pick up. No voicemail was left either.

Got a call today around 8:10am from someone claiming to be with an energy firm. He said they were working in my area and chatting to homeowners. I cut him off straight away and asked how he figured I was a homeowner when I hadn’t given him any details and he hadn’t introduced himself properly. He went silent for a bit then just brushed it off and continued his spiel. I told him to hold on because he still hadn’t answered my question. Nothing but silence after that, so I ended the call. This is actually the second time this week they’ve tried the same thing.

The phone went to voicemail, but nobody ended up leaving a message.

I tried calling the number back after it rang and went silent, but it just said the number didn’t exist anymore. Pretty odd.
