I managed to get quite a bit from the person who rang me. She said her name was Amber Simpson and had a strong Liverpool accent. She claimed she was contacting me regarding a PPI tax refund, saying her firm was working with HMRC. The company she mentioned was National Gateway, supposedly located on Faraday Street in Liverpool. She already knew loads about me and then sent a link to my email, which was obviously a dodgy email trying to scam me.

Answered the call but there was nobody there, seems like one of those automated bulk calls - went straight to block.

I saw the number 07599 293985 pop up but decided not to pick up just to annoy whoever was calling. Yep, another one added to my blocked list now.

Someone phoned me claiming to be from the Government Benefits office. I asked her to verify if that was really the department she was calling from, and she said yes. After that, she spoke so quickly and with a strong accent that I couldn’t make out what she was saying, so I decided to just end the call.
