I finally decided to report it as harassment to the police, and they did get in touch with me afterwards. Honestly, if you're dealing with this kind of thing, you need to report it too so they have a chance to take action.

I received a call which I answered, but before I knew it, they hung up and promptly sent a message urging me to pick up. Just moments later, my phone rang again, but alas, the line went silent once more. They decided to drop another message insisting I answer. At that point, I thought it wise to block the number. Fast forward to today, and I've now been bombarded with five messages, all along the lines of 'Pick up the phone' and queries about why my line's perpetually busy.
